Liverpool vs Crystal Palace Predictions, Tips & Latest Odds

Liverpool will be hoping for a welcome distraction in the EFL Cup when they entertain Crystal Palace in their Round of 16 contest on Wednesday evening.
Anfield will provide the setting for one of several pan-Premier League clashes in the competition, and Crystal Palace, who lifted the FA Cup last term, will be gunning for more domestic success this campaign.

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace Tips
With three wins in the last five meetings - including in the Premier League this season and the Community Shield - Crystal Palace are the form team in this fixture.
With that in mind, here are three football tips and our latest live odds.
Tip 1: Crystal Palace to win & Over 2.5 goals - 13/2
Under Oliver Glasner’s tutelage, Crystal Palace have become exciting to watch, and they are taking the initiative against the top teams.
Okay, the 1-0 reverse away to Arsenal was slightly disappointing. They’ve now recorded back-to-back defeats in the league which is as many as they had lost in their previous 18 (W9, D7, L2).
Anyway, things have been relatively smooth for the Eagles compared to Liverpool. They were put to the sword away to Brentford last weekend, crashing to their fourth league defeat on the spin, underlining worries that the crisis is deepening.
Mohamed Salah’s numbers have dropped off alarmingly, and Palace have already got the better of Liverpool twice this term, if you include the Community Shield victory.
Palace haven’t lost at Anfield since September 2021, and I think they will advance to the quarter-finals. The Over 2.5 goals line has been met in the past two meetings, so I’m going with Palace to win & Over 2.5 goals combo for my first tip.
Tip 2: Under 7.5 corners across the 90 minutes - 7/2
Some great technicians will take to the pitch, and with that, the ball is likely to remain in play for some time.
Judging on the league, neither Liverpool nor Palace have been awarded tons of corners this term (81 combined and counting).
Against Arsenal, Palace managed three, while Liverpool only earned four against Brentford, which shows that there might not be many set-pieces given on the evening.
The corner count is an alluring market, and I think under 7.5 corners across the 90 minutes has some legs to it.
Tip 3: Jean-Philippe Mateta to score in both halves - 14/1
A strong focal point of the attack, Jean-Philippe Mateta has been exceptional this term, firing eight goals for club and country.
His physical presence and ability to turn defenders inside out mean Virgil van Dijk and co will need to be on guard.
Mateta converted from the spot when Palace edged out the Reds in the Community Shield clash back in August, but I fancy him to go one better this time round.
I’ve been a bit braver here and I’ve gone with Mateta to score in both halves, something he hasn’t managed to do this term.
