Championship Predictions: Football Accumulator Tip of the Week
Championship Accumulator of the Week
Our Championship accumulator this week comes in at a whopping 90/1, which looks like a bit of a longshot so let's have a closer look at the individual selections.
Stoke v Norwich - Norwich to win
Norwich have been in good form of late, and could go on to be one of the surprise packages in the Championship this season.
As our resident EFL expert Gab Sutton has pointed out, Johannes Hoff Thorup has really started to make an impression at Carrow Road and with three wins in the last four - the only points dropped was in a very creditable draw against Leeds - the players are responding.
Stoke remain frustratingly inconsistent and have already replaced one manager this season, so Norwich should certainly be eyeing the three points on Saturday.
Sheffield Wednesday v Burnley - Burnley to win and BTTS
I guess this is one of the riskier picks from this week's acca, but I think it should be a pretty decent game.
Wednesday at home can be hard to beat but matches at Hillsborough have generally produced goals - it was BTTS in their last two home games - while Burnley will go there expecting to win.
Scott Parker's side have scored just once in their last three matches and have three clean sheets in those games, so all the evidence suggests the total opposite of my pick - but I just fancy a narrow win for the visitors!
Preston v Coventry - BTTS
Coventry have been one of the big disappointments so far at this early stage in the season but showed what they are capable of when beating Blackburn 3-0 two weeks ago.
They come up against a Preston side with just seven goals to their name in nine matches so far which is a pretty woeful effort but it should be a pretty even contest all in all.
Coventry's defensive record is nothing to be proud of either, so BTTS looks a good bet - but don't be surprised if it still ends up a pretty low-scoring affair (my guess would be 1-1 or something like that).
Blackburn v Swansea - Blackburn win to nil
After flying out of the blocks, Blackburn appear to be reverting to type with successive defeats dropping them down the table to three points above Swansea in eighth.
They've scored 15 goals so far this season though - that's more than Sheffield United, West Brom, Burnley and Watford who are all above them - and come up against one of the league's better defences.
After nine games a record of eight goals scored and six conceded is pretty bleak stuff in terms of entertainment.
Their possession-favoured style of play makes for a less entertaining game and after two games without a goal I reckon that run is going to continue at Ewood Park.
