Daily Euro 2024 Acca
We take in the best of the Euro 2024 action on Tuesday with our 6/1 Acca.
Netherlands to Win to Nil vs. Romania
After their initial victory against Ukraine, Romania’s offensive performance has been lacking. They failed to score against Belgium and only managed a fortunate penalty shot in their third-round match against Slovakia. On the other hand, the Netherlands faced a tougher group and did not shine, but their form ahead of the tournament and in the qualifiers gives me confidence that they will outplay Romania without conceding a goal.
Austria to Win HT-FT vs. Turkey
Austria entered Euro 2024 as one of the biggest dark horses and fully justified that label in the group stages, securing inspiring victories against the Netherlands (3-2) and Poland (3-1). Ralf Rangnick’s side is significantly stronger than Turkey, who have struggled defensively. There is great value in backing Das Team to take an early lead and win the encounter.
Daily Euro 2024 Bet Builder
Check out our Bet Builder for Tuesday’s last 16 tie between Romania and the Netherlands.
Cody Gakpo Over 1.5 Shots on Target
Gakpo has probably been the pick of the Netherlands forwards so far at the Euros, and he looks a far more comfortable player in the Dutch shirt than he has so far in his Liverpool career, where he tends to play through the middle rather than down the left as he does for his country.
He has had a shot on target in each game so far and averages 1.38 shots on target per 90 minutes. I am backing him to slightly exceed that figure against Romania. While Netherlands won’t exactly go out all guns blazing, I expect them to control the game enough for Gakpo to enjoy himself.
Denis Dragus Over 1.5 Fouls Committed
The Romanian forward has been a bit of a pest so far in the tournament, conceding seven fouls in 220 minutes of playing time - making it an average of roughly one foul every 31 minutes. He will have his work cut out going forward so I expect him to put himself about a bit and get pulled up on it.
Netherlands Win to Nil - 11/10
Given the way the last 16 ties have gone so far, this is the one selection today that I am in two minds about. No one, apart from Germany, has had it all their own way and I do think Romania will cause the Dutch a few problems in this game but ultimately come up short.
Netherlands however kept a clean sheet against France and with the strength they have at the back I think they will fancy their chances against a Romania side who scored three goals against Ukraine in their opener but since blanked against Belgium and scored from the spot against Slovakia. I don’t think this will be a walkover, but Netherlands will edge it.
