Leyton Orient v Wrexham Match Preview
The fixture list hasn’t been kind to Leyton Orient, who faced Bolton, Charlton and Birmingham in their first three games, and were highly competitive in each of those encounters, only to find themselves on the wrong side of the result.
Although Richie Wellens’ side followed those unlucky defeats up with a 3-0 loss at strugglers Shrewsbury, in their worst performance of the season by far, they’ve since taken seven points off Reading, Stockport and Peterborough.
So, they definitely deserve more than the seven points they’ve accrued so far this season and are probably better than 16th.
That’s worth bearing in mind when it comes to the odds, which price the O’s as big outsiders, priced at 6/5 via the draw no bet market at home to Wrexham.
Sure, the Red Dragons have enjoyed a wonderful start, and find themselves top of the league, but it may be too early to redefine our view of them so much that they get priced up like a prime promotion contender would.
Bearing in mind, Phil Parkinson’s side were unconvincing in last week’s 2-1 home defeat to Crawley, Orient have a better chance than the odds imply.
