Wetherby Tips for Today
Charlie McCann and Alan Kelly have selections for Wednesday’s competitive-looking card at Wetherby, including Charlie’s Nap of the Day, running at 3:00pm - click on the links below for more information.
We also check out two betting angles to keep in mind when making your Wetherby bet selections.
Up with the Pace
Wetherby is a galloping track with easy bends, so it’s key to be up with the pace around the course, and it’s a track where front runners do exceptionally well if given a soft lead.
A fair jumping test
Previously known as a tough jumping test, the fences at Wetherby have become slightly more forgiving over the years, but they still offer a challenge, particularly for novices.
Top Wetherby Jockeys
Danny Tudhope and Jason Hart are the ones to follow on the flat, both with a strike rate of 27% and a profit to level stakes.
And with his brother doing well with his hurdlers at the track, it’s no shock that Harry Skelton has a 40% strike rate over hurdles in recent seasons.
Top Wetherby Trainers
Flat racing fans should keep an eye out for David O’Meara runners who are operating at a 28% strike rate and are showing a profit to level stakes.
Over hurdles, Dan Skelton is the man to follow, who has a strike rate of 36% over the past season, while over fences, check out any Olly Murphy and Nicky Henderson runners - Murphy has a 40% strike rate, while Henderson is operating at over 60% but has only had a handful of runners at the course.
Wetherby Free Bets & Betting Offers
Wetherby is a popular racecourse with punters, so there’s no shortage of betting offers from the bookmakers when there’s racing on at the Yorkshire track.
