They had been sitting pretty on 10 points after eight games not so long ago but a disastrous run of form has left them needing a win against Mumbai Indians and results to go in their favour elsewhere to qualify.

LSG to win
As usual with any game in which Mumbai Indians, they start as favourites with the bookies.
That means there is plenty of value to be found in betting against them at this year’s IPL, because they have been in such poor form throughout. They currently have lost nine of their 13 matches including four of their last five, and while LSG aren’t exactly in rude health themselves, they have played better cricket than Mumbai this season.
In players such as Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran, LSG do have players who have been in match-winning form at some stage this season and they could do with KL Rahul finding some form again after doubt was cast on the captain’s future at the franchise.
Rohit Sharma to score a 50
A lot of what has happened at Mumbai Indians this season could be attributed to the decision to depose Rohit from the captaincy.
While it could be argued that it has been coming and Rohit’s form over recent years in the tournament left a lot to be desired, there have been rumours of a rift in camp and Hardik Pandya has been unconvincing in his own efforts to lead from the front.
Rohit responded with a century but aside from that has been unconvincing and inconsistent with 349 runs in 13 innings, and there have been rumours that this could be his last game for the franchise such are the reports of disillusionment.
With the T20 World Cup round the corner, there is plenty of motivation for Rohit to finish well and it would be no surprise to see him bow out on top.
