Odds drift on Liverpool to win Premier League after Crystal Palace loss
The odds on Liverpool to win the Premier League in Jurgen Klopp’s final year have massively lengthened following Sunday afternoon’s defeat to Crystal Palace.
The Reds have spent much of 2023/24 at the Premier League summit but a 1-0 defeat at Anfield vs the Eagles has seen Liverpool slip down to 3rd in the table, while the odds on them to win the title have drifted to 6/1.
Jurgen Klopp on Premier League title race
After their loss to Palace, Manchester City have moved up to 1st place in the Premier League, sitting two points above Liverpool with six games to play.
However, Jurgen Klopp has refused to concede defeat in the Premier League title-race despite his side’s latest setback:
“I understand it 100%. Of course you have to ask these questions, what it means for the title-race,” he said. “I am not dumb. I know that.
“The answer is pretty easy. If we play like in the first half, why should we win the league? If we play like in the second half, we can win football games.
“If we can win football games, then we will see how many we win and then we will see. We have to be around when the other guys struggle, if they struggle. That’s how it is.”
Liverpool’s next league outing comes on April 21 away to a Fulham side who are much stronger at home this term. Back Liverpool to see off the Cottagers at 1/2.
