  • Ruben Villa to beat Sulaiman Segawa by KO/TKO/Disqualification - 5/2 with bet365
  • Skye Nicholson to beat Dyana Vargas by Decision/Technical Decision - 1/6 with bet365
  • Jaron Ennis to beat David Avanesyan by Decision/Technical Decision - 11/2 with bet365

If you can’t sleep ahead of England’s European Championship final against Spain on Sunday, then Saturday night has enough boxing to keep you going through the wee hours.

We’re off to Philadelphia for Jaron Ennis’ homecoming, as the young pound-for-pound contender attempts to defend his IBF welterweight title against the rough and ready Armenian David Avanesyan.

Skye Nicholson features on the undercard and Ruben Villa fights in Las Vegas; both are big favourites in their respective fights, but we’ve managed to piece together a sizeable accumulator for the evening’s action.

It’s a 26/1 shot with bet365 that we are trying to reel in, so let’s have a look at the four legs:

Weekend Boxing Betting Tips

Ruben Villa to beat Sulaiman Segawa by KO/TKO/Disqualification

Ruben Villa isn’t exactly a puncher, but the 27-year-old southpaw is gaining some good momentum following his solitary career loss to Emanuel Navarrete in 2020.

The scorecards were extremely tight that evening in Las Vegas, and he’s since gone 4-0 recording two stoppages in the featherweight division.

Sulaiman Segawa has a mixed record seeing him win just three of his last seven fights, and having been stopped before by Jamaine Ortiz back in 2020, Villa will be eyeing up the openings in this southpaw vs southpaw contest.

Villa’s good form opens up the cracking value for a stoppage in Sin City.

Skye Nicholson to beat Dyana Vargas by Decision/Technical Decision

It only took Australia’s Skye Nicholson ten fights to become a world champion in the featherweight division, and her reign is unlikely to be bought to an end by Dyana Vargas.

The talent pool can often be shallow in women’s weight classes, and despite healthy experience and just one defeat on her record, Vargas hasn’t fought outside of the Dominican Republic or against anyone close to Nicholson’s ability.

Nicholson is a slick puncher/mover and should cruise to a points decision here. Here one KO in ten outings doesn’t suggest she’ll stop the durable 32-year-old.

Jaron Ennis to beat David Avanesyan by Decision/Technical Decision

“Boots” Ennis is widely regarded in boxing circles as being one of the next fighters to challenge for the top spot in the pound-for-pound rankings.

The IBF welterweight champion does everything right in the ring, looks the part and is now building a CV currently at 31-0 with 28KOs.

In truth, David Avanesyan is more of a European level fighter, but at 35 the Armenian-born Nottinghamshire-based fighter has a third chance at world honours following defeats to Lamont Peterson in 2017 and Terence Crawford in 2022.

Avanesyan may have four losses on his record but he isn’t easy to beat – unless your name is Terence Crawford.

Ennis is one helluva fighter but he’s still a few big wins off of superstar levels, and we’ve got a feeling that the old pro is going to make the Philly fighter work hard for a win in front of his home faithful.
