Chev Clarke to beat Efetobor Apochi by KO/TKO/Disqualification
There is a lot of noise around Chev Clarke.
Despite turning pro in his 30s, the cruiserweight southpaw has made up for lost time so far going 9-0 in two and a half years, notching up seven KOs in the process.
A silver at the European Championships and bronze at the European Games were the highlights of “C4′s” amateur career, but there is an obvious opening in the 200-pound division if he is able to continue his momentum.
He picked up the vacant British cruiserweight title in his last fight and now, in his first fight overseas as a pro, is looking to throw his name into the hat for bigger titles.
Efetobor Apochi is well known in the amateur ranks, much like Clarke, and has gone 12-2 as a pro since turning over in 2017.
The Nigerian fights out of Houston, Texas, but with two losses in three fights since 2021, the 36 year old probably has too much ring rust to trouble Clarke in this ten-rounder.
Diego Pacheco to beat Maciej Sulecki by Decision/Technical Decision
Billed as “Lights Out in LA” this contest between Pacheco and Sulecki is expected to catch fire from the opening round, but that won’t favour the underdog Sulecki.
The 35-year-old Polish fighter is wily and experienced enough not to get dragged into an early fire-fight with the explosive and unbeaten Pacheco, and if he is able to stay tight off the back foot, then there is a chance he could hear the final bell in LA.
Sulecki’s only losses have come at the very top of the middleweight division – to Danny Jacobs and Demetrius Andrade – and going the full 12-round distance in both should hold him in good stead this weekend.
Pacheco could well turn into one of the guys to beat in the 168-pound division, but he is still raw.
If Pacheco can’t hurt the tough Pole early on in this contest then he might have to settle for a win on the scorecards as he eyes bigger tests at super-middleweight.
