Slovenia Odds and Predictions
We have a range of Euro 2024 offers, enhanced odds and betting tips available across every team as we build up to the tournament in Germany. This page will feature everything you need to know about Slovenia in the build-up and throughout the tournament, as we offer regular tips and the latest odds ahead of each game.
Slovenia head into Euro 2024 as one of the tournament’s underdogs. They only started competing at the European Championships in 1996 after splitting from FR Yugoslavia, and have so far qualified for just one tournament in their history.
That appearance came in 2000 and saw Slovenia fail to win a single group game, finishing bottom of their group as a result.

We will bring you the latest Slovenia Euro 2024 betting offers, enhanced odds and tips across the tournament when it kicks off on June 14.
Slovenia Euro 2024 Top Tip
Given their record at the European Championships and their struggles in simply qualifying for the tournament, it is hard to see Slovenia going very far in the competition.
However, the introduction of the third-place rule means Slovenia have a decent chance of making it to the last-16 stage of the competition this summer.
Slovenia are in Group C alongside England, Denmark and Serbia. While the Three Lions are favourites to top the group, 2nd and 3rd place are very much up for grabs, especially if one of the other aforementioned sides can get some sort of result against England.

Slovenia’s Road to Qualification
Slovenia have qualified for the European Championships for only the second time in their history, last doing so back in 2000.
In qualifying, Slovenia were drawn in Group H alongside Denmark, Finland, Kazakhstan, Northern Ireland and San Marino.
Slovenia finished 2nd in the group, winning seven, drawing one (vs Denmark) and losing two (vs Denmark and Finland).
When are Slovenia’s Euro 2024 games?
Slovenia will play three Euro 2024 group games. The opponents and dates can be found below:

- Group C - Slovenia vs Serbia, June 20.
- Group C - England vs Slovenia, June 25.
Slovenia’s Road to the Final
Anyone who is looking at backing Slovenia for success will want to know how they can get to the final. Their paths are determined by where they finish in the group, either first, second or third - and here are the various permutations that they will have to navigate.
Round of 16
- If Slovenia win Group C - Their last 16 game will be against one of the 3rd-place teams from Group D, E or F. This game will be played on June 30.
- If Slovenia are runners up in Group C - Their last 16 game will come against the winners of Group A - a group containing Germany, Scotland, Hungary and Switzerland. This game will be played on June 29.
- If Slovenia finish third in Group C (and accumulate enough points to advance to the knockout stage) - Their last 16 game will be against either the winner of Group F - Turkey Portugal, Czech Republic, TBD - or the winner of Group E - Belgium, Slovakia, Romania, TBD. These games will be played on July 1 or July 2.
Quarter-Finals
- If Slovenia win Group C - They will face the winner of the last-16 clash between the runner-up of Group A vs the runner-up of Group B. On paper, their most likely opponent will be Italy. This game will be played on July 6.
- If Slovenia are runners up in Group C - They will face the winner of the last-16 clash between the Group B winner vs one of the 3rd-place teams from Group A/D/E/F. Their most likely opponent would be Spain (coming in as Group B winners). This game will be played on July 5.
- If Slovenia finish third in Group C (and accumulate enough points to advance to the knockout stage) - They will either face the winner of the last-16 clash between Group D and E’s runners-up or the winner of the game between Group D’s winner and Group F’s runner-up. These games will be played on July 5 or July 6.
Semi-Finals
- If Slovenia win Group C - Many assumptions have to be made by the time we get to this stage, but if things go as expected, Slovenia will face either Belgium or Portugal in the semi-final. This game will be played on July 10.
- If Slovenia are runners up in Group C - Again, a lot of assumptions need to be made here but Slovenia’s most likely opponents are France or the Czech Republic. This game will be played on July 9.
- If Slovenia finish third in Group C (and accumulate enough points to advance to the knockout stage) - Given how the third-place teams are put into the knockout phase, Slovenia could face any of Germany, Spain, Netherlands or Belgium. These games will be played on July 9 or July 10.
Final
- If Slovenia win Group C - On the opposing side of the draw in this scenario would be the likes of Germany, Spain, Netherlands or Portugal - of said clubs, Spain seem the most likely to make it to the final. The final will be played on July 14.
- If Slovenia are runners up in Group C - On the opposing side of the draw in this scenario would be the likes of Belgium, France, England or Italy.
- If Slovenia finish third in Group C (and accumulate enough points to advance to the knockout stage) - Slovenia could be put onto either side of the draw depending on how they rank among the third-place teams, meaning they could face any of the big hitters we have mentioned above.
Slovenia’s Key Players
Jan Oblak - There should be little debate that Jan Oblak is by far and away Slovenia’s best player. The 31-year-old plies his trade at club level for Atletico Madrid where he has cemented himself as one of the best goalkeepers in world football today. Oblak became Slovenia captain in 2019 and he will have to play beyond his best if Slovenia are to have any sort of success this summer.
Benjamin Sesko - From the old guard to the new generation, 20-year-old Benjamin Sesko is the fastest rising star to come out of Slovenia since Oblak himself. Sesko earned himself a move to RB Leipzig last summer and the striker has since gone on to cement a regular starting berth for the German outfit. He has 10 goals for the national side at the time of writing, making him the country’s highest-scoring player who is still active at national level.
Andraz Sporar - The final key player for Slovenia is Andraz Sporar. The 30-year-old was not handed his senior international debut until 2016 but he has become a key figure for his country since then. Sporar, a striker by trade, has formed an excellent partnership with Sesko of late, including scoring three and assisting three in qualifying.
