Horse Racing Still A Hit Despite Suspension Of UK & Irish Meetings
With almost all professional sports suspended for the last two months it has been a unique period for sports fans and betting enthusiasts. So how has all this affected sports bettors?
We surveyed over 250 freebets.com customers from April 6 – 26 to find out how they have been betting during this unprecedented lockdown and the results were intriguing.

Seventy percent of punters are still getting their betting fix despite the closure of all UK betting shops and sports events, with a third still enjoying backing horse racing.
The survey found that 35% of punters were placing bets on horses across April, despite there being no meets across the UK and Ireland. Instead, Australia has been happy hunting ground for punters, while a quarter of people were also still betting on football, despite Belarus being one of the only leagues seeing action.
Both Esports and Virtual betting have seen an increase in players, with almost one in five players being encouraged to bet on those markets during April, while a quarter of people have also switched to casino as a vehicle to enjoy betting.
