Haldon Gold Cup Betting 2023, Best Betting Offers, Odds & Tips
Six runners are set to line up on Friday
The Haldon Gold Cup is a Grade 2 chase over 2 miles and 1½ furlongs, run annually at Exeter Racecourse, and this year’s race is scheduled for Friday, November 10.
The race is one of the few Graded chases in the UK to be held during the week, and it regularly attracts a competitive field. Previous winners include the Champion Chase winner Politologue (2017), God’s Own (2014 and 2018) and Cue Card (2012).
Sadly, the 2005 race was overshadowed by the death of three-time Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Best Mate.
The Haldon Gold Cup is an early-season target for horses seen as potential candidates for the Queen Mother Champion Chase or the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. A strong performance in the Haldon Gold Cup can be a springboard to further success as the season continues.

What Happened Last Year?
The 2022 Haldon Gold Cup was won by Greaneteen, trained by Paul Nicholls and ridden by Harry Cobden.
Sent off as the 7/2 second favourite, Greaneteen jumped well and made all the running, quickening clear after the fourth last fence and running out a comfortable ten-length winner from Dolos in 2nd, with the favourite Third Time Lucki back in 3rd.
The victory was Greaneteen’s second in the Haldon Gold Cup, having previously won the race in 2020. The win saw him become one of only three horses to have won the race twice in the last 20 years, alongside Edredon Bleu and God’s Own.
