The St James’s Palace Stakes is always a fantastic contest and this year’s renewal is even more open than usual so our expert team of Ed Quigley, Peter Scudamore and Charlie McCann have their work cut out to find a winner.
Among all the options, both Ed and Charlie are sweet on the chances of Battleground who is a 13/2 shot with 888sport.
Charlie thinks it is very interesting that Ryan Moore is back on board having chosen Wembley at Newmarket and was taken with him in both the Vintage Stakes and the Chesham Stakes last year and noted the money that came for him ahead of the Irish 2,000 Guineas before he was pulled on account of the ground.
