2024 Premier League Darts – Night 14 Tips
The 2024 Premier League Darts heads to Aberdeen as we close in on the playoffs
This is not how Peter Wright would have envisaged his appearance north of the border in this season’s Premier League.
The only Scot in the field is the only player eliminated from playoff potential this season having won just two of his 15 matches all season.
It’s happier times for Luke Littler who is sitting pretty at the top of the standings, chased down by his name-sake, Humphries, and a consistent Nathan Aspinall.
Let’s take a look at the best betting in Aberdeen for this Thursday.
Peter Wright vs Michael Smith – Over 9.5 legs
Ever the showman, we’re not expecting Peter Wright to go down in Scotland without a fight.
Michael Smith hasn’t exactly been firing on all cylinders this season, and with the crowd behind him “Snakebite” has the potential to run this one down to the wire.
They’ve only met once before in this season’s Premier League with all 11 legs contested in Brighton.
Luke Littler vs Nathan Aspinall – Over 7.5 180s
Two of the most in-form players in the Premier League, so expect maximums to flow as these two go toe-to-toe in scoring charts.
No player has reached more finals than Aspinall this campaign and no player has more points than Littler – something has to budge in Aberdeen.
We’re staying well clear of the match markets and backing over 7.5 maximums to be thrown between them.
Michael van Gerwen -1.5 handicap vs Rob Cross
Rob Cross ended his record-breaking-rutt last week by finishing runner-up in Liverpool but has another mountain to climb in his Aberdeen quarter-final in the shape of Michael van Gerwen.
MVG is hovering in fourth – in danger of getting leapfrogged by Smith for his playoff spot – so will be adament to turn the screw in the race for for the O2 against Cross.
Cross has an outside chance of making the top four but it looks like his race is pretty much run.
MVG 6-4 or better is the pick.
Luke Humphries to beat Gerwyn Price
After a rampant middle section in this year’s Premier League, world champion and world number one Luke Humphries has started to blow hot and cold.
He has lost more quarter-finals than he’s won across the last five weeks, but has been handed a favourable tie against the out-of-sorts Price in Aberdeen.
Humphries has won six of the last seven meetings between the two and has more to play for in Scotland – 4/7 is a good price for the outright win.
