We’re heading into the penultimate Thursday before the Premier League playoffs will be known, so if any players are planning to make their move towards the top four then they better move quickly!
Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price’s race has already run, and Luke Littler and Luke Humphries are already in the top four, but what of the rest?
Let’s take a look at the best betting in Leeds for this Thursday.
Michael van Gerwen to beat Gerwyn Price
Michael van Gerwen is 4/5 to win a darts match against a guy that hasn’t got anything to play for — that screams value to us.
MVG has been in questionable form on Thursdays getting past the quarter-finals just three times since Night 4, but with two weeks left to reach the playoffs, we’re expecting the “Green Machine” to turn on.
Price has won just seven of his 20 games this campaign and has been saved from the foot of the table by an out of sorts Peter Wright.
Luke Littler to beat Peter Wright 6-3
It’s top vs. bottom here, and unfortunately for “Snakebite” is a case of how badly he will lose rather than if he will lose…
And that might sound harsh of a former two-time world champion, but that’s exactly how his 2024 has panned out so far.
Luke Littler is safely through to the playoffs and has won four of the last six weeks.
6-3 feels about right and is the best way to try and squeeze some value out of this fixture.
Luke Humphries -1.5 handicap vs Rob Cross
Rob Cross has an outside chance of making the London playoffs, but realistically is going to have to win 6/6 matches across the final two weeks.
He’ll have an uphill battle against the world number one Luke Humphries – a man that has lost just five of his quarter-final appearances all campaign.
Cross has actually won three of their five meetings in the Premier League this season, but all good things must come to an end... if you’re “Voltage” Cross.
Nathan Aspinall to beat Michael Smith
Nathan Aspinall continues to pull up trees in the Premier League and is continually under-valued by the bookies.
We’ve enjoyed some tasty wins backing Aspinall this campaign, and the third ranked player is 10/11 to continue his good form against Michael Smith.
Smith could leapfrog Aspinall into the top four if he gets the win and goes deep in Leeds, but Aspinall is playing too consistently to roll over.
Aspinall has only lost to MVG or Luke Littler since Night 8 and should edge out “Bully Boy”.
