Arsenal Title Odds: Now 9/4 after Bournemouth win
The Premier League title race rolls on as we head into the final few weeks of the 2023/24 campaign.
Arsenal are currently top of the division and were in action on May 4 versus AFC Bournemouth.
The Gunners headed into the tie as favourites to pick up the win and when all was said and done, goals from Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard and Declan Rice saw Mikel Arteta’s men secure a 3-0 win and maintain their lead at the Premier League summit.
Premier League Title Race: Current Odds
3rd-place Liverpool picked up a dominant win over Tottenham on Sunday but it is likely too late for Jurgen Klopp’s side, who sit five points off top spot with two games to play after winning just one of their last five before Spurs.
As a result, the Premier League crown will now go to one of Arsenal or Manchester City. The Gunners are aiming to win their first title in 20 years, while favourites Man City are looking to pick up a record fourth.
- Manchester City - 4/11
- Arsenal - 9/4
Who will win the Premier League Title?
Arsenal (83 points)
Could this finally be the year Arsenal win a major trophy under Mikel Arteta?
After spending the majority of the previous season top of the Premier League before a rather spectacular collapse in April of 2023, it looks as though Mikel Arteta’s men may finally go all the way this time around.
Arsenal’s dominant win over Bournemouth means they sit a point clear atop of the Premier League with two fixtures remaining, a much better effort than they managed in 2022/23 when they had already surrendered the title to City at this stage.
Despite having a fairly small squad and injury issues plaguing their backline for much of the season, Arsenal have been the most consistent side in the top flight this term.
Arsenal have lost just one league game across all of 2024 (0-2 vs Aston Villa) and they have a fairly easy end to the season, with Manchester United away likely the only fixture left they could drop points in. However, the title remains out of their hands as 2nd-place Manchester City will go above them if they win their game in hand.
Arsenal’s remaining Premier League fixtures
- Manchester United (A) May 12
- Everton (H) May 19
Manchester City (82 points)
Standing in Arsenal’s way this season is once again Manchester City. The Sky Blues have been far from their best in 2023/24 and may not reach the 90-point mark this term - an unusual blip for the Citizens.
However, they remain in control of their own destiny thanks to their game in hand, which takes place versus Tottenham on May 14.
Games against Fulham and West Ham look nailed-on points for Pep Guardiola’s men, meaning the match with Tottenham will likely decide who is named Premier League champion in 2023/24. But as Man City have failed to beat Spurs in their previous two meetings, the title is by no means City’s just yet.
Manchester City’s remaining Premier League fixtures
- Fulham (A) May 11
- Tottenham (A) May 14
- West Ham (H) May 19
