Like Atalanta, Leverkusen saw off English opposition in the quarter-final, beating West Ham 2-0 at home before a 1-1 draw at the London Stadium. To make it to the final, Die Werkself beat AS Roma 4-2 over two games, saving their unbeaten streak in the second leg by scoring in the 97th minute.
