Tuesday evening has a juicy game in store as Dortmund will host Celtic in the Champions League.
The new format for Europe’s elite competition may take some time for neutrals to get their head around. Still, Signal Iduna Park always provides a rapturous atmosphere with football under the lights.
Dortmund have already made a marked improvement from last term, and they warmed up with a 4-2 victory over Bochum last Friday in the Bundesliga.
Celtic, similarly, have been in free-scoring mode of late and they enjoyed a 6-0 evisceration of St Johnstone last weekend. So far, only Aberdeen have been able to keep pace with them at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Notoriously, Celtic have struggled on the road against German teams, while Dortmund have had more first-hand experience of facing the Hoops’ bitter rivals Rangers in continental tournaments.
So, without further ado, I’ve run the rule over the key talking points heading into this game. Oh, and as always, I’ve got a couple of Dortmund v Celtic betting tips for you to keep at the forefront of your mind.
Dortmund to hand Celtic a European lesson
It would, of course, be glib to dismiss Celtic’s progress this term, but they look more assured.
Of course, Dortmund will be a serious step up, and both sides emerged victorious in their opening Champions League group games.
Dortmund and Celtic have met four times before, but the Bumblebees have come out on top on three occasions, firing six goals.
As we know, the infamous “Yellow Wall” makes Signal Iduna Park an intimidating place to visit, and Dortmund will be hoping to go one better than last season when they experienced heartache in the Final against Real Madrid.
More disconcertingly for Celtic, they have never won on German soil, losing nine of their previous 11 encounters.
While Celtic have blitzed teams apart in the Scottish Premiership this term with consummate ease, I think they could be handed a tough lesson by Dortmund.

Having a cool head will be paramount for Celtic in what will be a stiff challenge for them against Dortmund.

Normally, I prefer to lean into the goalscorer markets, but I’ve changed things up this week.
Rather than going for the Over/Under totals, I’m swayed by particular match specials, such as the first player to be cautioned.
