Trainer Phil McEntee landed a winner at Windsor on Monday and will saddle AUTUMN FLIGHT in the opening race this afternoon.
Despite being on a long losing run, the eight-year-old Autumn Flight’s last triumph was in this very race last year, from a 9lb higher handicap mark.
He put in a solid effort when fourth at Lingfield last week, and although he has a high draw this afternoon, he typically has plenty of early pace, so Josephine Gordon should be able to grab a handy position.
At double-figure odds, Autumn Flight looks like a solid each-way play in a competitive contest.
3:53pm Brighton - Hill Spirit
The Jim Boyle-trained Chinthurst has been in excellent form recently, and he will have plenty of supporters in the 3:53pm race.
However, a chance is taken on the Archie Watson-trained HILL SPIRIT, who makes his handicap debut from a mark of 54.
A winner over hurdles in January, Hill Spirit has improved for each of his three runs on the flat to date and this opening handicap mark could underestimate him.
