Chelsea given Christopher Nkunku boost ahead of Middlesbrough

Chelsea faced off with Fulham this past weekend in a Premier League clash, picking up a 1-0 win to make it four wins from five in the Premier League.

The Blues are next in action on January 23 vs Middlesbrough in the second leg of the League Cup semi-final. Back Chelsea to win at 1/4 with bet365.

Chelsea handed Christopher Nkunku boost

Before their second-leg tie vs Boro, Chelsea have been handed some good news on the injury front.

Christopher Nkunku missed the first half of the season thanks to a serious knee injury in pre-season and after finally debuting for the Blues, hurt his hip in training in early January.

The Frenchman was unable to train for 10 days and is yet to feature in 2024 as a result, having missed games against Preston, Middlesbrough and Fulham.

However, there are positive signs in his recovery with Chelsea enjoying a three-day break from training during the Premier League’s winter pause. And when the players return to Cobham later this week, Nkunku could be involved.

Nkunku featuring vs Middlesbrough would be a major boost for the west Londoners, who lacked any sort of clinical finishing in the 1-0 defeat at the Riverside last time out.
