Cole Palmer injury update

Cole Palmer has 11 goals and eight assists in 24 Premier League outings this term, making him Chelsea’s top goalscorer and MVP of the campaign so far.

As a result, the Chelsea faithful were no doubt concerned when Palmer missed England’s 1-0 defeat to Brazil at Wembley on Saturday evening.

However, in a boost for the west Londoners, Palmer was part of the squad that trained at Tottenham on Monday ahead of Tuesday’s friendly against Belgium.

The reason for Palmer’s absence vs Brazil was a ‘minor injury’, but the 21-year-old is now in line to win his third England cap against Belgium at Wembley.

Palmer’s return to fitness also comes as a boost to England, who have already lost Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Kyle Walker, Sam Johnstone and Harry Maguire to injury during the break.
