Chelsea injury news

Here is the latest Chelsea injury news ahead of their meeting with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

Malo Gusto withdrew from France’s under-21 squad last week. However, he was fit for the game against Burnley but the right-back then limped off in the closing stages of said game. There is yet to be an update on the severity of Gusto’s injury.

Elsewhere, Ben Chilwell returned from England duty in March with a knock before missing the draw with Burnley over the weekend. Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed the left-back will be assessed before the meeting with Manchester United.

Christopher Nkunku suffered a hamstring injury in the League Cup final vs Liverpool in February. Pochettino said at the time that he expected Nkunku to miss ‘a few weeks’, suggesting he should return soon.

Finally, Pochettino has confirmed that right-back Reece James may not play again this season after undergoing hamstring surgery in December.
