Crysencio Summerville Next Club Odds: Chelsea now 6/4 favourite

Chelsea are the current 6/4 favourites to be Crysencio Summerville’s next club come the start of the 2024/25 season.

The 22-year-old enjoyed another prolific campaign for Leeds United last time out, scoring 21 goals and providing 10 assists in 49 ties across all competitions for the Whites, primarily playing as a left winger.

However, Leeds blew their chance at automatic promotion before going on to lose the play-off final to Southampton. This means the Yorkshire outfit are set for another campaign in the Championship, which has led to speculation a number of key stars will be sold this summer.

One such player is Crysencio Summerville, who is thought to be the target of a number of Premier League sides, and given his quality, it is believed the Dutchman will not want to spend another season in the Championship.

The Contenders

Chelsea

Chelsea are the current favourites to land Summerville with odds of 6/4. The Blues are not afraid to flex their financial power following Todd Boehly’s arrival, meaning price should not be an issue for the west London outfit.

Chelsea are also somewhat lacking for quality in the left-wing department despite their big spending. Raheem Sterling’s form has fallen off over the last year, leading to him missing out on Euro 2024 for England. Mykhaylo Mudryk has also struggled for any sort of consistency. He enjoyed an uptick in form earlier in 2023/24 but scored just one and assisted zero in his last 10 Premier League outings. As a result, if Chelsea can move one of those stars on, Summerville would be a smart replacement.

Liverpool

Next up in the betting is Liverpool with odds of 10/3. Unlike Chelsea, the Reds have plenty of quality options who can operate on the left flank. Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Darwnin Nunez and Cody Gakpo are all comfortable out wide. However, Arne Slot has recently taken the reigns at Anfield and will no doubt be looking to put his own stamp on the squad.

There is speculation the Dutchman could move Darwin Nunez on this summer, which would mean Jota and Gakpo would have to play through the middle as the club’s main strikers. This leaves just Diaz to cover the left wing and a back-up in that spot would be needed. As Summerville is still young and not yet a world-class option, he seemingly fits the profile of the type of player Liverpool have looked to sign in the past.

Tottenham

Tottenham are among the favourites to sign Summerville this summer, which makes sense given they should be on the lookout for attacking reinforcements. Heung-min Son has taken up a more central role under Ange Postecoglou and Richarlison could be sold in the coming months.

In turn, Spurs will need to sign a reliable left-wing option for the future. The north Londoners have extended Timo Werner’s loan deal from RB Leipzig but that is a short-term fix plus, Werner is not exactly known for scoring a lot whereas Summerville was Leeds’ top scorer in 2023/24.

Aston Villa

Aston Villa are set to ply their trade in the Champions League in the forthcoming campaign. This means Unai Emery and co. will need to strengthen their squad in order to cope with the demands of playing European football at the highest level alongside a 38-game Premier League season.

One area the Midlands outfit could do with improving their depth is left wing. John McGinn has primarily played out there over the last year and while he is good, Villa lack a lot of quality behind him - something Summerville could bring.
