Crystal Palace handed injury blow

Before their meeting with Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palce have been handed a major blow on the injury front.

This comes amid fears goalkeeper Sam Johnstone will miss the rest of the 2023/24 campaign after he suffered an elbow injury on England duty.

The FA confirmed on Sunday that Johnstone had pulled out of the England squad and he is due to see a specialist on Monday to discover the full extent of the problem.

Palace boss Oliver Glasner had made Johnstone his no.1 since taking over at Selhurst Park ahead of Dean Henderson, who is now expected to start vs Forest.

As for England, Gareth Southgate has promoted Burnley’s James Trafford to the senior squad for their final game of the break vs Belgium.
