Gareth Southgate confirmed his provisional squad for Euro 2024 on Tuesday afternoon.
As was to be expected, the Three Lions are somewhat lacking in quality at the back and in the defensive midfield area. However, the former Middlesbrough boss once again has a plethora of attacking talent to choose from.
We have taken a look at who will finish as England’s Top Goalscorer at this summer’s European Championship.

Who will be England’s Top Scorer at Euro 2024?
Harry Kane
Harry Kane heads into Euro 2024 as the favourite to be England’s top scorer with odds of 4/5. The striker ended his club campaign with an impressive 44 goals and 12 assists in 45 appearances for Bayern Munich.
For England, meanwhile, Kane is their all-time top scorer with 62 goals across all competitions, while he has found the net four times for the Three Lions at the European Championships - only Wayney Rooney (6) and Alan Shearer (7) have scored more in the competition.
Bukayo Saka
Bukayo Saka enjoyed his most prolific season in an Arsenal shirt in 2023/24, scoring 20 and providing 14 assists for the Gunners in all competitions.
Given England’s lack of natural right-wing options heading into Germany, Saka is expected to start most, if not all, of his countries’ games this summer. Saka has 11 goals in 32 outings for England at the time of writing and while he did not score at Euro 2020, he netted three in four at the 2022 World Cup.
Jude Bellingham
Another player to look out for this summer is Jude Bellingham. The young midfielder is yet to find his goalscoring boots for his country, scoring three in 29, but his club form across the most recent campaign suggests he has a great chance of being England’s top scorer at Euro 2024.
Operating largely as a no.10 or in a false-nine role, Bellingham scored 23 goals for Real Madrid en route to what looks set to be a La Liga and Champions League double. If Southgate opts to start Bellingham in a more advanced role this summer, that attacking output should finally carry over to his England displays.
Cole Palmer
Next up with rather generous odds of 20/1 is Chelsea’s Cole Palmer. Palmer has made just two senior England appearances to date but his showings across 2023/24 suggest he has to be a regular feature at this summer’s tournament.
Palmer carried the Blues to a 6th-place finish in the Premier League, scoring 27 goals in 48 outings - only missing out on the Golden Boot to Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
