The Godolphin-owned Arabian Crown had been as short as 7/2 second favourite for the Derby behind City Of Troy, who is now 2/1 favourite, despite his disappointing run in the 2000 Guineas.
Vying for favouritism despite not holding a Derby entry is the William Haggas-trained Economics, winner of the Dante Stakes at York on Thursday.
Withdrawn from the Derby entries earlier this year, connections of Economics must now decide if they supplement their colt for Epsom for £75,000.
The other horses at single-figures odds are Lingfield Derby Trial winner Ambiente Friendly and the Aidan O’Brien-trained Los Angeles, winner of last weekend’s Leopardstown Derby Trial.
With the absence of Arabian Crown and the tragic injury collected by Chester Vase winner Hidden Law, Godolphin’s leading Derby contender this year appears to be Ancient Wisdom, who finished six lengths behind Economics at York.
