Europa League Preview: Borussia Dortmund v Rangers

Rangers travel to Germany to take on Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League, and the Glasgow side face a challenging task at the Westfalenstadion this evening.

Dortmund have won 12 of their 15 home games this season and are odds-on favourites to record a first-leg victory ahead of next week’s return match at Ibrox.

Marco Rose’s men bounced back from a 5-2 mauling against Bayer Leverkusen with a 3-0 win at Union Berlin at the weekend, closing the gap on Bundesliga leaders Bayern to just six points in the process.

And Rangers have struggled on the road in Europe this season, failing to win in their last six.

With nine of Dortmund’s 15 Bundesliga wins this season coming by a 2+ goal winning margin, a play on the German’s on the handicap this evening could be fruitful, and they’re 11/10 at Betfair giving up a one goal start.

Rangers captain James Tavernier also looks overpriced to pick up a card this evening.

He’s been booked in three of his last six appearances for the Gers, and up against top-quality opposition the 7/2 with Betfair is a price I’m happy to get on at.
