Europa League Preview: Rangers v Borussia Dortmund

After a stunning 4-2 victory in Germany last week, Rangers will look to finish the job against Borussia Dortmund at Ibrox this evening.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side were 3-0 and 4-1 up in Germany on an incredible night, and although they were pegged back, they still have a healthy advantage to defend.

Rangers head into this on the back of a draw at Tannadice on Sunday against Dundee United despite having 29 shots on goal, while Dortmund destroyed Borussia Monchengladbach 6-0.

Dortmund will still be without Norwegian goal machine Erling Haaland tonight, and in his absence, Marco Reus will be the German’s main attacking threat.

Reus contributed to five goals in the demolition of Monchengladbach, scoring two and providing three assists, and he looks a great bet at 13/8 with bet365 to get on the scoresheet tonight.

And with a two-goal advantage to defend, you can be sure there will be some time-wasting tactics employed by Rangers this evening.

Goalkeeper Allan McGregor has been booked three times this season – all for time-wasting – including in Germany last week.

I expect him to drag out every goal kick and free-kick this evening, and the 9/1 at bet365 for him to be shown a card looks a massive price.
