FA Cup sixth round draw confirmed
The FA Cup sixth round draw was made on Wednesday evening, with these are the quartet of quarter-final fixtures coming your way:
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Coventry City
Manchester United vs Liverpool
Chelsea vs Leicester City
Manchester City vs Newcastle United
Fierce rivals Manchester United and Liverpool will meet in the FA Cup for the 19th time, including the finals of 1977 and 1996, both won by the Red Devils.
Elsewhere, Newcastle United will travel to their least-favourite venue, the Etihad, having lost each of their last nine away games against Manchester City, although Eddie Howe’s team did beat Pep Guardiola’s side in the EFL Cup back in September.
There’s also a rematch of the 2021 final, as Chelsea face Leicester City at Stamford Bridge, a clash won by the Foxes of course, while the Blues will be seeking to reach the last four for the sixth time in eight seasons.
Lastly, Wolverhampton Wanderers will welcome Coventry City to Molineux for the first time in 11 years, with Wolves aiming to reach the semi-finals for only the third time 43 years, previously doing so in ‘98 and 2019.
These ties will be played on the weekend of 16/17 March.
