Jurgen Klopp next club odds as Ruben Amorim ‘agrees three-year deal’ with Liverpool
Sporting manager Ruben Amorim has agreed a deal in principle to replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, according to reports.
Jurgen Klopp confirmed earlier this year he was set to step down as Liverpool manager at the end of the current campaign. At present, Klopp is 2/9 with Betfair to choose the German national team as his next managerial role.
Ruben Amorim ‘agrees’ to join Liverpool
Following Jurgen Klopp’s announcement he was set to depart Liverpool, Xabi Alonso became favourite to take over from the German at Anfield. However, Alonso has since confirmed he will remain at Bayer Leverkusen beyond the current campaign, leading to a new frontrunner emerging on Merseyside.
Sky Germany claimed this week that Ruben Amorim is discussing a three-year deal to take over at Anfield, with the agreement still to be finalised.
Speaking about his future at Sporting recently, Amorim said: “No, I can’t guarantee [I’ll stay]. I gave my word and I can’t go back on it. If we don’t win titles, I’ll leave Sporting. It was clear from the start, it was the bet I passed on to the players. We have to win titles.”
Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp is yet to speak out on what he will do post-Liverpool, but a number of clubs would no doubt love to snap up the former Borussia Dortmund boss in the near future.
