Having disappointed over fences, ARCTIC LODGE reverts to hurdles this afternoon, and he looks attractively handicapped from a mark of 84.
He’s yet to win, but his last run over hurdles was without promise when running 4th at Ludlow with the horses that finished 6th and 7th that day, both winning since.
The D J Jeffreys yard have been amongst the winners recently and the booking of Sam Twiston-Davies catches the eye in a wide-open-looking contest.
With several bookmakers offering five places, Arctic Lodge looks like a solid each-way play.

The obvious two in the 2m 1f+ Handicap Chase are Frere D’Armes – dropped to an attractive mark - and Pay The Piper – ran a cracker from this mark at Newcastle over further last time – but I am going to take a chance on FEARLESS (Each-Way) with Brian Hughes a positive booking by Danny Brooke.
The stable have had two winners from their last four runners and I remember the selection running an excellent race when second at Uttoxeter from this mark back in August. The selection will love the forecast good ground, and this is likely to have been the target since he failed to get home over further at Doncaster on ground softer than ideal eleven weeks ago. He should have the race run to suit with several frontrunners in the field.
No prices are available at the time of writing, but I hope he will be around the 8-10/1 mark.
