Latest odds on Erik ten Hag to leave Manchester United after Brentford stalemate

Manchester United faced off with Brentford in a late Premier League kick-off on Saturday evening and were expected to win.

However, the Red Devils were held to a 1-1 draw by the Bees, a result that has seen Erik ten Hag’s odds slashed to 5/1 with Betfair to be the next English Premier League manager to leave.

Erik ten Hag to leave Manchester United?

Erik ten Hag is now the 3rd-favourite to be the Next English Premier League Manager to Leave. Vincent Kompany is 2nd favourite with odds of 5/2, while no manager to leave before the end of the season is 15/8.

Manchester United have won just two of their last five league outings and are 11 points off 4th place, albeit with a game in hand on Aston Villa.

Regardless, Manchester United have been inconsistent all campaign and their showing vs Brentford has garnered the ire of Erik ten Hag, who said post-match: “We didn’t deserve to win but if you’re winning you have to take this.

“I would say normally we are good in such circumstances if we score before time. We showed resilience all through the game but in points of aggressiveness Brentford were better, we should show more passion and desire in many moments in the game.

“But when you are winning you should bring it over the line. You can never compare such levels, performances (to United’s win against Liverpool two weeks ago) but also when you don’t play well you still have to win, we did it almost.

“That is my big disappointment - that we didn’t bring it over the line. We didn’t play well but there was spirit, there was fight, but not enough. It was enough to get the goal, 1-0, and before that we had a big chance for Rasmus Hojlund.”
