One such horse is the Edward Lynam-trained Punk Poet, who won this race last year from a mark of 70 despite the jockey’s saddle slipping in the early stages of the race.
Five of his eight career victories have come at Dundalk, highlighting his liking for all-weather surfaces, and a recent spin round Navan should have him spot-on fitness-wise for this.
