Nathan Ake, Ederson & Kyle Walker injury updates before Manchester City vs Aston Villa

Manchester City are set to take on Unai Emery’s Aston Villa in a Premier League fixture on Wednesday evening.

After drawing with Arsenal over the weekend, the Sky Blues cannot afford to drop any points as they look to close the gap on Liverpool. But with Pep Guardiola and co. unbeaten at home this campaign, they are 2/7 favourites with BetVictor to pick up the win over Villa.

Manchester City team news

Here is the latest Manchester City team news ahead of their home clash vs Aston Villa.

Nathan Ake limped off after 27 minutes during the Manchester outfit’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

When asked after the game about the centre-back’s problem, Pep Guardiola said ‘it is what it is’ before adding that it initially appears Ake will be out for ‘longer’ than hoped.

Elsewhere, Kyle Walker was forced off for England during the international break with leg muscle trouble and he is yet to return to training. His potential return date is currently unknown but he is expected to miss City’s upcoming Champions League tie with Real Madrid.

Ederson, who suffered an injury vs Liverpool, appeared in training for Manchester City before the Arsenal game and was labelled ‘much better’ by Guardiola in a recent press conference. The Brazilian is expected to be back in contention this week.
