The odds on West Ham to finish in the Premier League top six have massively lengthened following Sunday afternoon’s defeat to Fulham.
The Hammers have been in and around the top six for much of 2023/24 but after losing 2-0 to Fulham over the weekend, their odds have drifted to 66/1 for a top-six finish.
David Moyes eyes West Ham response vs Bayer Leverkusen
After losing to Fulham during the latest Premier League gameweek, West Ham have dropped down to 8th in the division.
The east Londoners are two points off 7th-place Manchester United and two off 6th-place Newcastle United. However, David Moyes’ side have played one more game than both teams and have a much worse goal difference (-6) than the Magpies (+17).
Speaking after the Fulham defeat, West Ham boss David Moyes spoke of his hope for a response vs Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday:
“It’s a quick turnaround but it’s not as quick a turnaround as Thursday to Sunday,” he said. “When it is Sunday to Thursday you have an extra day or two to get yourself ready, and it’s a little bit easier to prepare for that game, while the other gives you no time at all. We will get ready for the game on Thursday night now, and hopefully we can respond in the right way.”
West Ham lost their away leg vs Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 but should have better luck securing a result at the London Stadium this week. Back the Hammers to beat Xabi Alonso’s side at 13/5.
