An insight into who could replace Erik ten Hag as Manchester United manager has been provided recently.
This comes in the form of the odds being slashed on Julian Nagelsmann to become the next permanent Manchester United manager. The Germany boss is now 9/1 with Betfair to replace Erik ten Hag, having been 25/1 before a flurry of bets this week.
Who will be Manchester United’s next manager?
Erik ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford has been called into question for some time now and a 1-1 draw with Brentford over the weekend did the Dutchman no favours.
Man United are 6th in the Premier League and 11 points off the Champions League places, albeit with a game in hand on the two sides above them.
Regardless, the Red Devils are likely to miss out on the top-four this term, which will no doubt increase the pressure on Ten Hag.
Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “Odds on Julian Nagelsmann to become the next Manchester United manager have been slashed to 9/1 from 25/1 with Erik ten Hag’s Old Trafford future uncertain.
“Gareth Southgate remains the 5/2 frontrunner to take over at the Theatre of Dreams, with Graham Potter the 4/1 second-favourite. Elsewhere, former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is 10/1 to take the job, while Zinedine Zidane, 12/1, and Thomas Frank, 14/1, are amongst the outsiders.”
