Premier League: Arsenal v Wolves - The Race For Europe

Here We Go Again

After meeting Wolves only a fortnight ago, Arsenal must now prepare for the quickfire return of Bruno Lage’s men and with both sides harbouring genuine desires of European football next season, the outcome at the Emirates will be keenly anticipated.

Not only by the two teams that take to the field tonight, but also those who are in the Champions League chasing pack and with Tottenham doing what Tottenham do best at Burnley last night, both Arsenal and Wolves have been given a real opportunity to capatilise.

Which means although the Gunners and their Thursday night opponents are on the outside of the top-four race, a win would not only thrust them right into the mix, but it would also derail one of their nearest rivals at the same time.

Going into this encounter, Wolves have the slightly better form and the only blot on their record as of late was the 1-0 defeat at home to Arsenal. Which means from the last 18 points on offer, they have managed to scoop up 15.

While in comparison, Arsenal have also suffered one defeat in the past six, but they also have a draw to their name during that run and although they do have home advantage, they must remember that Wolves have already had joy in North London recently.

Admittedly a win may be too big of an ask for the away side, but a share of the points is certainly not, and therefore the double chance market is generating a lot of attention. Especially as bet365 are currently offering 11/10 for Wolves to return to the Midlands unscathed.

Keep It Tight

While if backing Wolves to avoid defeat does not take your fancy, there are a couple of additional paths to tread this evening and one of those is the over/under market. Something that at 4/6 with bet365 for under 2.5 in total, could be construed as rather shrewd suggestion.

Admittedly it is not the bravest tip that has ever been thrown up, but sometimes they do not have to be and with Arsenal lacking a multitude of firepower after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s departure plus Wolves’ lack of generosity in defence, this could be as tight an affair as expected.

Then again, if you think that tip is a little too obvious, we are going to now serve up one more to keep things interesting and with Granit Xhaka 6/5 at bet365 to pick up a booking anytime, you may also end up supporting the referee tonight.
