Premier League Golden Boot Odds: Cole Palmer vs Isak

The race for the 2023/24 Premier League Golden Boot took another major turn during the latest set of fixtures.

Manchester City faced off with Wolves in Saturday’s late Premier League kick-off and came out 5-1 winners with Erling Haaland netting four.

His display versus the Midlands outfit catapulted Haaland to the top of the goalscoring charts, with Cole Palmer and Alexander Isak - who also found the net over the weekend - now his closest competitors.

2023/24 Premier League Golden Boot Odds

After netting four versus Wolves, Erling Haaland is still leading the betting market for the Premier League Golden Boot this term. However, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer remains firmly in the race, with the likes of Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins and Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanake also still in the running during the final few weeks of the campaign.

  • Erling Haaland - 1/50
  • Cole Palmer - 25/1
  • Alexander Isak - 40/1
  • Ollie Watkins - 150/1
  • Mohamed Salah - 500/1
  • Dominic Solanke - 1000/1

Leading Candidates to win the 2023/24 Premier League Golde Boot

Here is a look at some of the names towards the head of the Golden Boot betting market.

Cole Palmer (21 goals)

For much of the 2023/24 season, the Golden Boot race has been a closely contested battle between Erling Haaland and Cole Palmer.

Palmer has been Chelsea’s best player by some distance this term, carrying them into the top-half with 21 goals and nine assists - all while largely operating on the wing or as an attacking midfielder.

However, Haaland’s goals versus Wolves means he now sits four ahead of Palmer at the top of the goalscoring charts with three games left to play. All of Chelsea’s remaining Premier League games this campaign are very winnable and should present Palmer with plenty of chances to score.

Whether or not he can net at least four more remains to be seen, but given he scored a hat-trick versus Manchester United on April 4 and four goals in one game versus Everton on April 15, Palmer cannot be ruled out of the race just yet.

Alexander Isak (20 goals)

After Ollie Watkins failed to score in Aston Villa’s last fixture, Alexander Isak - who found the net on Saturday versus Burnley - is now the main man aiming to chase down Cole Palmer and Erling Haaland.

Alexander Isak is currently in the midst of his best-ever goalscoring campaign for Newcastle United. Injury issues hampered the Swede’s form midway through 2023/24, but he returned from his last issue at the end of February and has been in top form since.

Isak has found the net 10 times in his previous nine Premier League outings for the North East outfit and like Palmer, has some kind fixtures to end off the season. Isak has also scored a brace in five top-flight games this season already, suggesting he could pull off a major upset in the final few weeks.
