Raith Rovers and Ross County clash at Starks Park on Thursday evening in the Scottish Premiership Playoff final first-leg, with a place in next season’s top tier on the line.
Having edged out Partick Thistle on penalties in the semi-final stage, Raith Rovers now face Ross County in a two-leg playoff for the right to play in the Scottish Premiership next season.
County are in the playoffs for the second consecutive season after failing to beat Aberdeen on Sunday, allowing St Johnstone to move above them on goal difference.
The Staggies kept their place in the top-flight last season following a penalty shootout victory over Partick, and another close matchup looks on the cards here, with Raith having enjoyed an excellent season under coach Ian Murray.
Rovers will hope they can grab the advantage in tonight’s home leg at Starks Park before heading north to Dingwall on Sunday for the return leg.
Check out our tips below for what should be a fascinating clash in Kirkcaldy this evening.
Vaughan to continue scoring-streak
Vaughan has enjoyed a successful season for Raith, bagging 15 goals in the Scottish Championship, helping his side to 2nd place in the league table.
He’s scored four in his last five appearances and bagged the winning spot-kick in Friday evening’s penalty shootout victory over Partick Thistle.
And he’ll fancy his chances of keeping his scoring streak going against a Ross County side that have conceded eight goals in their last three games and who are without a clean sheet since December.
White to see yellow
Jordan White has topped the bookings stats for Ross County this season, collecting nine so far this campaign.
With the Staggies battling to beat the drop in recent weeks, White hasn’t been afraid to get stuck in and he’s been booked in his County’s last two games against St Johnstone and Aberdeen.
County will look to keep things tight tonight in Kirkcaldy and curb Raith’s attacking presence so it would be no shock to see White in foul trouble once more and he looks like a solid bet to end up in the referee’s book at some stage.
