St Johnstone v Celtic Match Preview
It could have been a remarkable reunion in Perth had St Johnstone succeeded in appointing Scott Brown to replace Craig Levein at McDiarmid Park, but the former Celtic skipper turned Saints down following talks.
They are believed to be in the hunt for Aberdeen coach Peter Leven but they need to get their act together soon after an opening sequence of results that has seen them pick up just one league so far this season, coming on August 11 against Kilmarnock.
It would take a brave person to back them to do it on Saturday afternoon too, with Celtic maintaining a perfect start in all competitions - including a 5-1 Champions League demolition of Slovan Bratislava.
It is going to be hard to find value in this game, but with six and seven goals scored in Celtic's last two games respectively and six in St Johnstone's last match, so over 4.5 match goals at 14/5 is my first tip with Paddy Power.
In terms of goalscorers, I think there will be plenty of Celtic forwards licking their lips of getting in on the act here. Daizen Maeda is one who I would be looking closely at with five goals in seven matches so far this season, so have a look at him to bag a brace at 10/1 with Betfred.
