The final grand slam of a busy year in tennis is upon us.

Added to the four majors, we’ve also had the Olympics, which brought success for both Novak Djokovic and Qinwen Zheng.

We’ve looked at some of the best tennis betting offers, odds and markets from our range of tennis betting sites to provide you with our free US Open betting tips.

US Open Preview

A really interesting side-story at Flushing Meadows over the next two weeks surrounds the men’s world number one, Jannik Sinner, who has just escaped punishment having twice tested positive for a banned substance earlier this year.

It’s difficult to know what kind of mindset the Italian will be in, and he will no doubt have to deal with increased scrutiny. But him winning in Cincinnati over the last week is a positive for him.

One price which has caught my eye is Iga Swiatek to win the women’s title at 15/4. For most events other than Wimbledon, she is usually a very short price.

But some recent struggles, including only claiming a bronze medal in the Olympics at her favourite Roland Garros recently, have cast doubts. She was also beaten by Aryna Sabalenka 6-3, 6-3 in the semi-finals at Cincinnati earlier this week.

Now, clearly, Swiatek - a champion in New York in 2022 - is not in sparkling form. But every player, whatever the sport, encounters a challenge or two.

I just think that at 15/4, she’s worth siding with because if it does click for her, then she will be really hard to beat.

With the men’s event, I think it’s harder to call. Carlos Alcaraz would be my tip, but not with full confidence I admit. He’s the 2/1 favourite with vbet.

Like Swiatek, I believe he is the best player on show. But like Swiatek, he has had recent challenges. He was beaten by Novak Djokovic in the final of the Olympics before being beaten in the second round of Cincinnati 2-1 by Gael Monfils. He said it was the “worst match I ever played”.

That could, however, focus the mind and also give him some time to refresh after a busy summer. It may not have been the worst thing in the world.

Clearly, it would be no shock to see Sinner or Djokovic prevail. But I favour Spaniard Alcaraz.

If you want a dart at the Swiatek-Alcaraz win double, it’s available at 12.68/1 with Unibet.

I’m eager to back Iga

I’d be very surprised to see American Coco Gauff defend the title she won last year. She lost in the third round of the Olympics on clay and has lost two out of three matches on hard court over the last couple of weeks.

The next two bets I will give you are both with betfair. The first is their 11/10 double chance on either Iga Swiatek or favourite Aryna Sabalenka to be the winner of the women’s event.

To have a better than even money shot on either of the two favourites triumphing I think represents value.

The second is on Swiatek to win her Quarter of the draw at 5/4 with betfair. So that bet is effectively for her to reach the semi-finals.

German Alexander Zverev would be my bet to win his Quarter of the draw and reach the semi-finals. Betfair have him at 6/4 to overcome the likes of Taylor Fritz, Holger Rune and Casper Ruud.

The world number four has won five of seven matches on hard court in the last fortnight. He has won half of his 22 career titles on hard court (both indoor and outdoor) and was a US Open finalist in 2020.

How about 12/1 on Alcaraz and Zverev in bet365′s name the finalists market?

And betfair’s 20/1 on Australian Alexei Popyrin to win his Quarter of the draw and reach the semi-finals is worth consideration given his recent form.

He would have to get the better of the likes of Djokovic, Andrey Rublev and Frances Tiafoe, but the world number 28 is coming off the biggest success of his career to date having won the ATP Masters 1000 in Montreal  just over a week ago.

I will finish with a pair of accumulators, one for each event, involving the round one matches.

The first one is a four-fold for the men’s round one matches.

I would go for wins for Sebastian Korda against Corentin Moutet, Karen Khachanov over Dan Evans, Holger Rune over Brandon Nakashima and Tommy Paul against Lorenzo Sonego.

That will bring you in 2.4/1 with betvictor.

Then, the women’s acca is a six-fold 7.86/1 with SportingIndex.

That’s wins for Beatriz Haddad Maia against Elina Avanesyan, Donna Vekic versus Kimberly Birrell, Katie Boulter over Aliaksandra Sasnovich,  Madison Keys versus Katerina Siniakova, Marta Kostyuk versus Mccartney Kessler and Qinwen Zheng over Amanda Anisimova.
