The Hundred Cricket Betting Tips: Oval Invincibles v Northern Superchargers
Split across their two teams, the Oval Invincibles have played four, won four. But both sides face a stiff examination of their credentials. It promises to be a fascinating day for our Hundred Betting Tips preview
- Northern Superchargers to beat Oval Invincibles - 6/4 with William Hill
- Hollie Armitage to be Northern Superchargers’ top batter - 4/1 with Betfred
- Adam Zampa to take 2 wickets - 6/5 with bet365
- Dawid Malan to score a fifty - 9/4 with betfair
- Oval Invincibles win, Malan to score 21+ and Harry Brook to score 20+ - 9/2 with William Hill
This day of action, I believe, involves the champions of the respective competitions - the Oval Invincibles men and the Northern Superchargers women.
So far, the Invincibles men have indicated I may be right with two wins, one convincing over Birmingham Phoenix, the other hard-fought over Welsh Fire.
The Superchargers women, however, are yet to hit their straps, losing one to Trent Rockets and playing out a tie in the other against Southern Brave in a repeat of last year’s final.
I expect the Superchargers to come good, starting with what the bookies believe would be a surprise win over the unbeaten Invincibles. They’re available at 6/4 with William Hill to win.
Instead of tipping a result in the men’s match, I suggest we look elsewhere for value. While I rate the Oval side higher, I do think Andrew Flintoff’s Superchargers have plenty about them when not beset by availability issues, as they were in their opening defeat against Trent Rockets. They bounced back on Tuesday to brush Southern Brave aside.
We’ve put together a collection of our top Hundred cricket betting tips along with the best offers available from our online betting sites.
The Hundred Cricket Betting Tips
Hollie, Hollie, Hollie, Oy, Oy, Oy!!
Northern Superchargers captain and opener Hollie Armitage is knocking down the England door. She may not have caught light in the early stages of the Hundred - scores of 9 and 14 - but she’s having an exceptional summer.
In regional cricket for the Northern Diamonds, she’s the leading run-scorer in the 50-over Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy (424 runs in 10 innings) and she was the second leading run-scorer in the T20 Charlotte Edwards Cup (323 in 10).
Armitage, to me, is over-priced at 4/1 with Betfred to be the Superchargers’ top batter in the women’s game.
That and the Superchargers to win are my only bets from the afternoon women’s game.
Dawid’s the Malan with a Plan
Before I get onto Oval Invincibles’ opener Dawid Malan in the men’s fixture (6.30pm), I want to start with his team-mate Adam Zampa, who brought us some success in the opening fixture of the tournament when he claimed three wickets in victory over Birmingham.
The Australian leg-spinner has taken three wickets in each of the first two matches, and I don’t see any reason to divert away from him. He’s 6/5 with bet365 to take two wickets in the match.
So to Malan, who has a superb record in the Hundred, scoring seven half-centuries in 24 appearances.
He has joined the Invincibles from Trent Rockets for this season and has started with a couple of low scores. But I’d be backing him to come good in this fixture.
The England discard - a former world number one T20 player - is 11/4 with betfair to score a fifty.
And finally, William Hill - via their #YourOdds specials - are offering 9/2 on an Invincibles win, for Malan to score over 21 runs and Superchargers captain Harry Brook to score over 20 runs in the match. That’s enticing.
