The Premier League’s best value tickets

The latest Premier League season has come to an end, and it’s safe to say it was another year of high stakes and standout performances, catching the eye of football betting enthusiasts. But when it comes to raw entertainment, which team actually offered fans the best value for money.

Comparing the cost of each team’s most affordable season ticket against the number of home wins and home goals they recorded during the 2023/2024 season, we have been able to determine the Premier League’s best and worst value seats. This insight is also valuable for those looking into Euro 2024 betting, where understanding team performance can influence betting strategies.

The cost of a win per season ticket

Wondering which Premier League outfits offer the best and worst value season tickets for home support? We’re not only about football betting offers but in this case we’ve reviewed just how much every fan ‘spent’ for each win their team delivered at home last season.

The best value tickets per win

Sitting at the top of our list, recent Premier League champions Manchester City offer fans the best-value tickets. With 14 home wins from a possible 19, and the cheapest season ticket at the Etihad costing £385, that’s a very affordable £27.50 per victory. Put into context, Manchester United fans spend twice as much (£55.90) to see their team win!

Next up, we head to the north east, with Newcastle United’s strong home form ensuring fans got great value tickets last season. With the cheapest Toon ticket coming to £417, their 12 home wins cost just £34.75 apiece.

Taking third, with the next-best value-for-money Premier League season seats, we have West Ham United. Despite only registering 7 home wins last year, the east London club’s reasonably-priced tickets ensured each victory only cost fans £44.29.

In fourth, we look at Liverpool, whose 15 home wins came at a cost of just £46.60 each - for fans with the cheapest season tickets (£699) - while Fulham place fifth on our index; those with the best-priced seats spent just over £50 per win last season.

The worst value tickets per win

Meanwhile, at the other end of our index, 19th placed Burnley offered the worst-value-for-money tickets last season. With the cheapest seats costing supporters £455, that’s a whopping £227.50 for each of the two wins they registered – of course, one of them was a 5-0 pummelling of Sheffield United, so fans were at least entertained on the day!

Speaking of which, Sheffield United had the next-worst value tickets last season. Like Burnley, the Blades only secured a couple of victories, but their more-affordable seats (£380.50) ensured each cost fans just over £190.

Mirroring their league position, Luton Town place 18th on our list of the best-value season tickets. Though they put up more of a fight than Burnley and Sheffield United, taking the relegation dogfight to the final day, Luton supporters were only able to witness four victories at home last season, with each coming at a cost of £107.50.

Of the non-relegated teams, Nottingham Forest supporters spent the most per win last year (£93), followed by AFC Bournemouth (£84.86) and Brentford (£83.80).

Meanwhile, of the teams to win 10+ 2023/2024 games at home, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal offered the worst-value tickets – each victory cost supporters £62.08 and £64.87 respectively.

The cost of a goal per season ticket

We’ve looked at the cost of a Premier League win per fanbase, but how about the value of each home goal?

The best value tickets per goal

Perhaps unsurprisingly, with an astonishing 51 goals scored at home last season, Manchester City boast the best-value tickets for fans expecting goalmouth action. With the cheapest season ticket costing just £385, that’s a very reasonable £7.55 per goal.

In second, Newcastle United once again place second, with each of the 49 St. James’ Park goals costing supporters an affordable £8.51. Meanwhile, the next-best value can be found at West Ham, with a Hammers goal costing fans an average of £10.

Next up, Aston Villa fans enjoyed a great season, and saw their side score 48 goals at home as they secured a Champions League place for the first time since 1983. Even better - each goal came at a cost of just £12.71.

Rounding out the five-best value for money season tickets, Chelsea fans spent an average of only £13.52 per Stamford Bridge goal last year – 19 of which came in the final five games as Chelsea stormed into sixth place.

The worst value tickets per goal

At the other end of our list, once again, Burnley are ranked as the worst value Premier League side, with fans forking out almost £24 per Turf Moor goal last season - and that’s for the cheapest season ticket (£455)!

Next up, it’s Everton who rank as the second-worst value for entertainment team, with a home goal last season costing supporters an average of £23.41. Meanwhile, each AFC Bournemouth goal cost £22 – though fans will likely be pleased to have enjoyed a season with little jeopardy.

Curiously, north London duo Tottenham and Arsenal complete our list of the five-worst value Premier League season tickets, when considering goals scored. Despite both being relatively free scoring all season, registering 38 and 48 home goals, it’s their high-cost tickets that mean a goal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the Emirates costs £21.24 and £20.27 respectively.

So, do you agree with our ranking of the best and worst value Premier League season tickets? Of course, with the transfer window wide open, who knows which teams will hit the ground running next season and deliver ultimate entertainment value for supporters!
