Tottenham vs Manchester City Premier League Betting Stats

As we head into the final week of 2023/24 Premier League action, six teams have a game in hand to play out before the last round of matches takes place on May 19.

Kicking off the midweek Premier League action is Tottenham hosting Manchester City at 8 pm BST on Tuesday, May 14.

Spurs are 11/2 underdogs to come away with the three points, while Manchester City can be backed at 4/11 to pick up a win in North London.

Ahead of the game, Manchester City are looking to go top of the Premier League. Spurs, meanwhile, have an outside chance of securing Champions League football.

Tottenham vs Manchester City

Tottenham’s form has fallen off a cliff in recent weeks but a four-game losing run was ended on May 11 when they beat Burnley 2-1 to send the Clarets back to the Championship.

That win saw Spurs move four points behind 4th-place Aston Villa with both teams having two games left to play. Unai Emery’s men are in action on Monday evening versus Liverpool and if they lose, it will open the door for Tottenham to potentially secure 4th-place on the final day.

As for Manchester City, they go into Tuesday’s game knowing it is a must-win. City are currently a point behind league leaders Arsenal, but the Tottenham fixture is their game in hand. Should they lose, the title is likely to go to Arsenal, while a draw with the north Londoners would see them head into their final game level on points with the Gunners but with a two-worse goal difference.

In turn, Manchester City, realistically, have to beat Tottenham on Tuesday if they want to win the title this term. If they draw, City would then have to better Arsenal’s result on May 19 by at least two goals. Beating Spurs may be easier said than done, however, as the Manchester outfit have drawn and lost their last two league meetings with them.

  • Manchester City have won each of their past seven Premier League games by at least two goals; their joint-longest run of victories when winning by more than one goal each time (previously a run of seven between May and August 2015).
  • Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne ranks joint-second for assists in the Premier League (111 – level with Cesc Fabregas), with only Ryan Giggs making more(162).

  • Phil Foden scored his 25th goal of the season for Manchester City last time out, becoming just the second English player to score 25+ in a season for the club in the Premier League era (across all competitions), after Raheem Sterling in 2018/19 (25) and 2019/20 (31).
