Vitality T20 Blast Betting Tips: Kent v Glamorgan, Lancashire v Nottinghamshire
Lancashire are one win away from the quarter-finals, but for the three other sides involved in this T20 Blast betting tips preview it’s just pride at stake
- Lancashire and Glamorgan to win - 5/2 with bet365
- Dan Douthwaite to take 2+ wickets - 9/4 with bet365
- Tom Bruce to score over 14.5 runs - 5/6 with betfair
- Tom Hartley to be Lancashire’s top bowler - 9/2 with Paddy Power
There’s a standalone fixture on each of the next two evenings, one on TV and the other you will be able to catch on Lancashire’s free online streaming service.
Kent and Glamorgan are down at the foot of the South Group and playing only for pride at Canterbury tomorrow, while Lancashire are second in the North and know a win over bottom-placed Nottinghamshire at Emirates Old Trafford will secure a quarter-final berth on Wednesday evening.
Bottom side Kent are on a three-game losing streak at present, whereas Glamorgan have won two of their last four games.
The Welsh side do look to have more firepower about them, and it surprises me a touch that they’re the 6/5 outsiders to win this clash, a price available with Betfred. That’s one worth serious consideration.
Those wins came before two most recent defeats, but in them they posted scores of 235-6 and 182-8. The wins came against Sussex and Essex, two sides inside the top four.
Nottinghamshire have lost their last three Blast games, including being bowled out for 57 in one of them. They sit bottom of the North and come up against a Lancashire side who haven’t lost a group match at Emirates Old Trafford since September 2020.
It’s no surprise they are 4/6 favourites to win. Rather than taking that single, I’d be more interested in the win double between Lancashire and Glamorgan at 5/2 with bet365.

Just the one bet for you here in this fixture.
Glamorgan seamer Dan Douthwaite is 9/4 with bet365 to take two or more wickets in this fixture.
The seamer has taken 15 wickets in this competition so far and has struck in all but one of his last seven Blast games, including a four-wicket haul and a pair of two-fors.
He has only claimed one wicket in each of his last three matches, but one of those was a rain-reduced 10-over game. He’s been there and thereabouts in almost every Blast game recently, so I think that 9/4 shot is well worth taking on.
Lancashire v Nottinghamshire
Lancashire’s New Zealand overseas player, Tom Bruce, has had a wretched summer, losing his place in the Blast and County Championship not long ago. But he returned in their last outing prior to a couple of rainy No Results and hit a fifty. He hit half-centuries in the second team and club cricket, the latter whilst acting as a substitute professional, and looks to be regaining some form.
Betfair’s over 14.5 runs in the match at 5/6 looks low, especially considering bet365 have him at the same price to score over 20.5 runs. I’d be siding with betfair’s price here.
Emirates Old Trafford is generally a spin-friendly venue. So, with that in mind, Paddy Power’s 9/2 on England left-arm spinner Tom Hartley to be Lancashire’s top bowler in the match looks a nice price.
There isn’t much form to add weight to a for or against argument here. He has only played one Blast match due to T20 World Cup duty, when he was consigned to the bench in the Caribbean. But there’s no doubting his quality.
