Weekend Boxing Betting Tips
Liam Davies to beat Shabaz Masoud by KO/TKO/Disqualification
Telford’s Liam Davies is fast becoming one of Queensbury’s jewels in their crown.
The 28-year-old drags his 16-0 unbeaten record to Birmingham this weekend looking to defend his IBO world super-bantamweight title against fellow Briton Shabaz Masoud.
Davies won his trinket last time out inside the same arena against Erik Robles Ayala and has decided to dance with a well-ranked, well-respected name in the division as he eyes a future opportunity against the king of the division – Naoya Inoue.
Masoud’s 13-0 record shouldn’t be sniffed at, but he hasn’t yet mixed it with the names and level of opposition that Davies has – that should prove to be the biggest factor in this match-up.
The door is ajar for Davies to kick on and become one of the biggest names in Frank Warren’s stable and a stoppage of Masoud would do just that.
Gabriela Fundora to beat Gabriela Celeste Alaniz by KO/TKO/Disqualification
After breaking out of her big brother’s shadow, Gabriela Fundora is now one of the top ranked names in women’s boxing after blitzing through the flyweight division.
The 22-year-old has defended her IBF title twice after winning it via 5th-round TKO in 2023 and now looks to add the WBC and WBO titles to her waist, taking on 28-year-old Gabriela Celeste Alaniz in Las Vegas.
The Argentinean nicknamed “La Chucky” won her two trinkets in a vacant title fight back in April, edging a tight SD against Marien Esparza, looking pretty unconvincing in the process.
With an unblemished record, Fundora is the big favourite here and it’s hard to imagine a world where she doesn’t clean up the flyweight division and move onto bigger challenges.
We’re chasing the value here in a 9/2 shot for the stoppage, but Fundora is growing into her power and has stopped two of her last three opponents...
O’Shaquie Foster to beat Robson Conceicao by Decision/Technical Decision
“Shock” Foster is out for revenge.
The 31-year-old dropped his WBC super-featherweight title to Robson Conceicao in July but in extremely controversial circumstances.
Two of the three judges saw it for the Brazilian challenger in Newark, and now Foster is back to regain his title that he believes is rightfully his.
Although the first meeting wasn’t exactly a Fight of the Year contender, Foster will be confident in dominating larger parts of this weekend’s fight with his slick counter style of boxing off the back foot.
Conceicao, now 36, has miles in the bank and with adjustments made by the challenger, it’s hard to see the Brazilian retain his strap.
