Six Nations Betting Tips
We’ve got two outright tips for the Six Nations, with England potentially set to enjoy a renaissance in 2024.
England to win the Triple Crown
One year on from Steve Borthwick taking the top role at Twickenham, and 2024 should see England enjoy a fruitful Six Nations.
Led by new captain Jamie George, it’s a squad packed with potential and with fewer questions to answer at present than France, who head into the tournament without Antoine Dupont and Romain Ntamack, and Ireland, who have seen Jonny Sexton retire, and who have a shocking record in post-World Cup Six Nations.
A seemingly easy opening match against Italy should see England head into their Twickenham clash with Wales full of confidence before they head north to Murrayfield to face Scotland.
Momentum is a huge advantage in the Six Nations, and a win in Edinburgh would then see England face Ireland at Twickenham with a potential Triple Crown on the line.
All three clashes against their Home Nations rivals look winnable, so a bet on England lifting the Triple Crown looks like a solid bet at 9/2 with BetGoodwin.
Damian Penaud to be Top Try Scorer
Damian Penaud is the favourite to top the try-scoring charts in this year’s Six Nations, and the French winger looks hard to oppose on current form.
He was the top try scorer in the 2023 Six Nations and joint-top in 2022 and bagged himself six tries in his country’s run to the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals.
Now at Bordeaux following his move in the summer from Clermont, Penaud tops the try charts in the Top 14 while having also scored four tries in four appearances in European competition.
Some punters may be put off by his price, but 7/2 is a fair reflection of how well Penaud is playing at present, and he’s sure to get plenty of try-scoring chances over the five match days.
