England are playing solely for pride - 2-0 down with one to play after a couple of meek batting displays on tricky surfaces over the last few days.

While I have nailed a decent priced shot on player success in this tour - Shakib Al Hasan at 6/1 to be Bangladesh’s top bat in an ODI, added to the another short priced winner or two - predicting results has been tough.

I started off thinking Bangladesh would cause England problems in the ODIs. They didn’t. But as soon as I thought England had found their stride, Bangladesh did what I thought they’d do from the start and won a game or three.

With Bangladesh having won three straight matches now across the ODIs and T20s, there is no denying the 6/4 shot on them to close out the series 3-0 is the value shot. Parimatch are amongst the bookies who are offering that price.

While England have shown frailties technically, I wonder where they will be mentally ahead of this fixture - one means very little in the grand scheme of things. Some of the players may have checked out already, so to speak.

That is part of the reason why I’m siding with Bangladesh, who have been excellent in the first two games with a real go get em’ approach. In many ways, they have given England a taste of their own medicine.

Let’s hope it’s as much good work as it is Wood work

Mark Wood was rested by England for the second game yesterday, but if he returns for the finale then I think the 6/4 Ladbrokes are offering on him to take over 1.5 wickets is a good price.

The pacer has taken 19 wickets in nine T20 internationals this winter, including one when he didn’t bowl because of rain against Australia in Canberra.

If he doesn’t play, your stake is returned.

If my theory about some England players not quite being fully invested in this fixture proves true, I can’t see teenage leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed being one of them. In the early stages of his international career, the Leicestershire man is living the dream.

He has struck once apiece in both matches he has played on tour - an ODI and a T20 - and will have to better that to bring in this punt.

But I can’t ignore the 5/1 which is on offer through Betfair Sportsbook for him to be England’s top bowler. On a spinner’s pitch, and with Jos Buttler surely desperate to give him as much opportunity as possible, surely that price is too big.
