Aston Villa vs Wolves Match Preview, Predictions and Free Bets
Saturday sees West Midlands bragging rights up for grabs as Aston Villa play host to Wolves.
West Midlands Rivalry
While Wolves make the short trip to Aston Villa still licking their wounds after that sensational cup exit at the hands of Coventry.

Premier League battle resumes this weekend and one the most important battlefronts will be found in the Midlands as Aston Villa and Wolves square off at Villa Park. Both outfits have aspirations of European football next season, those aspirations differ depending on the outfit.
In terms of Saturday’s hosts Aston Villa, they have designs on not only winning this season’s edition of the Europa Conference League – success that would also deliver automatic entry to next season’s Europa League but also do so well domestically that this prize goes unclaimed.
Fourth place in the final Premier League table of 2023/24 will secure direct entry to the Champions League, there is also a considerable chance that the rung on the league ladder below will also allow you to mix it with Europe’s elite.
However, Unai Emery and his players do not want to simply rely on their European performances to boost England’s overall coefficient, instead they simply want the less stress which comes with finishing in the top four.
A scenario that technically is in their hands but with Tottenham just three points behind with a game in hand, there is a growing sense that the Champions League anthem could be blaring out in the white half of North London once again.
With that said, points on board is always the most important commodity of all and after picking up just one in their last league outing at West Ham, the objective from manager Emery will be for his players to earn three next time around.
Standing in their way are a Wolves side who need three points just as much, not only to boost their own hopes of a top seven finish and a return to Europe but to also remove the recent FA Cup defeat to Coventry from their minds.
With the clock ticking past 90 minutes, it looked as if Gary O’Neil’s men were on their way to the first of possibly two Wembley trips. By the time the clocked ticked past 100, it was their Championship opponents who were booking coaches to the capital.
That defeat to Coventry can mean one of two things. It either sends Wolves’ season into something of a tailspin between now and the end of the campaign or it gives them the impetus to go again. The outcome on Saturday will give us some bearing as to how it will go.
But now it is time for the first of my two tips and although Villa were thrashed by Tottenham in their last home outing, their home form has been largely impressive this season and it is impressive enough for me to back a home win and both teams to score at odds of 2/1.
In addition to this, I am going to opt for a correct score pick and with both teams getting on the scoresheet, I think this is going to be a narrow win for Villa. Therefore, I am backing 2-1 to the hosts at odds of 8/1.
