Bayern Munich will look to continue their resurgence when they face off against Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon.
Before the international break, Bayern had clocked up three wins on the spin in all competitions. However, with a 10-point chasm between them and table-toppers Bayer Leverkusen, barring a remarkable turnaround, Bayern won’t be walking off with the Meisterschale this term.
While Dortmund have also been in superb form, registering four victories on the bounce in the league and eight wins without defeat on the road, their troubles against the top teams have been well documented.
Indeed, against the other sides in the Bundesliga’s top five, Dortmund have eked out just one point from a maximum of 12, which doesn’t make for good reading.
On the injury front, Bayern’s leading scorer Harry Kane is facing a race against time to be fit after picking up an ankle injury against Darmstadt, but Leroy Sane could shake off a knee niggle to start and Raphael Guerreiro will be hoping his thigh problem is behind him.
Der Klassiker is a must-watch and this storied fixture will see these two German heavyweights duke it out for the 135th time this weekend.

Bayern Munich to extend Der Klassiker run
While things haven’t quite transpired in the manner they would have hoped this term, they can count on a strong Der Klassiker to fall back on.
Thomas Tuchel, who is set to take charge of his 50th competitive match for Bayern, kickstarted his reign with a 4-2 win over his former employers.
Moreover, Bayern have had an uncanny habit of picking up all three points against Dortmund, and they haven’t tasted defeat in any of their past 11 Der Klassiker showdowns, winning on 10 occasions.

He has managed five goals during that period, and this mark his most prolific run in a Bayern shirt since October/November 2022.
With Kane a doubt, Musiala, who is into double figures in the Bundesliga this term, could produce an electrifying performance, and one that could see him amongst the goals.
